Get the Chance to Practice Your Editorial Skills at Penrose Academy

Throughout the year, we host several different editorial events designed to let you showcase your newly developed skills for the whole world to see. These events are not only great fun, but they also give you an amazing piece to add to your portfolio.

Wander + Wonder

Wander + Wonder is our signature semi-annual editorial styling and runway event. Based on a central theme, Penrose Academy students, alumni and educators create hair, makeup and nail art shown in a live gallery of models, executing looks in an editorial and runway environment. Friends, family, the community and press are invited to this showcase of artistry.

Editorial Events

Cosmetology students simulate the hectic pace and chaos of editorial photo shoots in these projects created and storyboarded by their student groups. Themes are changed and updated to reflect current styles, trends and interests. The student groups then create a photographic pictorial of their creations.

Film, Theatre and Television Inspired Events

Whether it is creating a Kinky Boots Drag Queen competition or a Disney-themed contest, Penrose cosmetology and esthetics students are involved in the creation of makeup and hair inspired by Broadway, television, and film. Through an exclusive partnership with ASU Gammage, Penrose Academy has hosted Broadway makeup artists, Broadway-inspired events, and Broadway costumes.
