Any Penrose alum can tell you how special assemblies are at Penrose Academy. We have award winning stylists and top-notch skin professionals that join us and share stories of inspiration, educate on the newest trends and techniques, and empower students to feel validated in their choice of choosing the beauty industry. Assemblies are a tradition that have continued through the years since Penrose opened its doors in 2006.
This week we invited our color brand partner Joico and Guest Artist Cherry Petenbrink to educate our students on her successful hair tips and tricks. Cherry has made her mark in this industry in many different avenues. She has a strong passion to give back to the beauty industry and to pay it forward by providing fun, current, and innovative education to everyone teaches.
Cherry is also a celebrity artist, who has worked with big names such as Scarlet Johansson, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell, and so many more! In 2012, her hair color expertise allowed her to become a lead Colorist on the blockbuster film Hunger Games. And to add to her repertoire, Cherry is also Olivia Garden’s Artistic Director, and has had editorial work published in many magazines! Her avant-garde work is phenomenal and that shows in her outstanding portfolio!
Assemblies allow Penrose students and alum to connect to gifted artists such as Cherry, and the opportunity to network with them!
