Penrose Academy welcomed special guest speaker, Brigid Ebert on behalf of Cut It Out for this weeks all school assembly. Cut It Out is a foundation of the Professional Beauty Association which aims to build awareness about domestic abuse. This foundation utilizes the creative salon environment as a platform to give salon and spa professionals the proper tools to build meaningful relationships with clients, recognize warning signs of domestic abuse and give clients useful resources to prevent further abuse.
Cosmetology and Esthetics students had the opportunity to hear Brigid’s personal experience with domestic abuse and her journey to becoming a speaker for Cut It Out. Her informative and touching presentation about domestic abuse highlighted how her hairstylist was the person who made the biggest impact on her decision to get out of a dangerous situation. Brigid’s story was incredible evidence of the important role salon and spa professionals play in their clients’ lives.
