Academic Advisement Meeting and Admissions Assessment

Penrose Academy conducts an academic advisement meeting as part of the acceptance process. The academic advisement meeting is an essential step in the acceptance process that supports Penrose Academy in determining if an applicant’s skills, experience, character and professionalism meet the criteria to complete the program of study successfully. In addition, the academic advisement meeting focuses on communication skills, motivation, maturity, and the ability to conduct oneself with responsibility, integrity, and accountability.

Penrose Academy provides academic advisement services to support and assist prospective students in planning for the occupational program they seek to pursue. In addition, Admission Coordinators collaborate with prospective students to help evaluate the occupational education program that aligns with their academic and career goals and personal interests.

You must be at least 17 years old and have completed high school or its equivalent.

: Do you need to be a U.S. citizen to attend Penrose Academy?

We accept U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and DACA students. Eligible non-citizens should submit their DACA card, Form I-94, and a state-issued driver’s license or state-issued identification.

: What secures your start date or placement on the waitlist?

To secure your start date or placement on the waitlist, you must complete the entire application process and finalize your financial plan. Once these steps are completed, you’ll be eligible for enrollment or waitlist placement.

: How likely are you to move up on the wait list?

Likely! The more patience and flexibility you have, the better your chances of moving up.

: What are the next steps after I graduate?

After graduating from Penrose Academy, you will receive your diploma. The next step is to obtain your license and/or certification.

: Can you transfer hours from another school to Penrose Academy?

No, we do not accept transfer hours. We ensure that your education is comprehensive and consistent from start to finish.

: What is the difference between the Cosmetology Hybrid Program and the Hair Hybrid Program?

The Cosmetology Hybrid Program covers hair, skin, and nails, while the Hair Hybrid Program focuses exclusively on hair and is a shorter program.

: Is there a dress code at Penrose Academy?

Yes, Penrose Academy has a dress code to maintain a professional learning environment while balancing self-expression and comfort. For the Esthetics and Laser programs, students are required to wear medical scrubs to ensure professionalism, infection control, and safety.
