However, for many individuals with autism, sensory sensitivities, trauma histories, or related disabilities, visiting a salon or spa can feel overwhelming. Bright lights, loud sounds, strong scents, physical touch, and busy environments can create significant anxiety and discomfort.
The Sensory Safe Solution Certification was created to change that.
As the first trauma-informed curriculum specifically written for the beauty, barbering, and personal care industries, this groundbreaking program teaches future professionals how to create environments that feel welcoming, predictable, and empowering for every guest. Through this certification, Penrose students learn practical strategies for recognizing sensory needs, adapting services, improving communication, and creating positive experiences that build confidence rather than fear.
